Hey, I’m Alyce

Hi, I'm Alyce. I started my blog, Return To The Lord, to share my life as a Christ follower, a woman, a mom, and a homemaker. I will show you how to manage your life without letting life rob you of your joy. Read more about me here>>

First, let’s start with my name Alyce.

My parents gave me a name that has caused me to give much grace to those attempting to read it correctly on the first attempt. Like most, when you see Alyce, you would think that is a pretty way of spelling Alice. I’m told even my Great Grandma Alice thought I was named after her. Nevertheless, my name is said like “a lease.” I like to follow up by stating, “like on a house or a car.” A lasting reference to think on when seeing my name in the future (wink, wink).

Like each of you, my life has had its ups and downs, twists and turns. I was born and raised in California and lived most of my life here. I grew up as a competitive athlete and learned so much about myself and how I can push myself through most of the hard things that we face in life. After getting married and transitioning into motherhood, my world opened up to so many blessings. God has a purpose and a plan for my life, but I didn’t really understand what that meant until he gave me the family that I always dreamed of having.

The Lord had a hand in it

God’s hand has been over both myself and my family and it is in his protection that I have truly learned what endurance and perseverance are. I thought the grit of my athletic past is what taught me to be tough. But I see now how God has shown me what true strength is. I have come to the end of myself so many times, and every single time, God has met me where I was. God has put me back together so many times and it is my desire that he become known through me.

Why I Started Blogging

This is my first time blogging, and I am so excited to be here! When I returned to the Lord, I was desperate to be in a community with women that was God-centered. At first, I struggled to find a strong group of women rooted in God’s word. But God is faithful, and he has brought the right people into my life.

I want to tell others what I have learned from my experiences. I have gained so much wisdom from women in my life, and I want to share with you how God is moving. Wisdom that helps me build a God-serving home, raise children who love the Lord, and remind my heart to seek after Jesus.

I am eager to build a community of women and mothers where we can connect through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, being a mother who builds up children in the ways of the Lord, and keeping a house running amid the chaos.
